What does that have to do with airplanes?
The shape of the wing forces the air above to travel further, and therefore faster, in its journey. As we have seen, higher speed air has a lower pressure, causing a "suck", and therefore we have LIFT.
By the way, this very special wing shape is called an "airfoil". There are many variations to this shape, and aeronautical engineers spend their entire careers trying to design a better shape. Thanks guys, love your work!
