What is Turbulence?
Why are the wings bouncing up and down?
You may notice, if you are seated near the wings, that they bounce up and down in turbulence…
DO NOT PANIC! THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO DO THAT.
One of the things that makes the wings so unbelievable strong is the fact that they are designed to have a bit of “give” in them. That is why, when the plane is bouncing along in turbulence, you will see the wings bouncing up and down too. This is good.
