What's That Noise?

Gear Down: "Whir Clu-Clunk!"

You guessed it... We are getting close to landing so it is time to put the wheels down again.

Just like when we lifted the wheels up after take off, lowering the wheels makes a strange noise, as the doors open up and the wheels lock down into position.

In pilot talk, this is extending the landing gear.

Sometimes, if the air is bumpy, you might hear another sound...
