FLYING IS FUN.

YOU SHOULD TRY IT WITH YOUR EYES OPEN!

What's That Noise?

Before Takeoff: "Donk....Donk......Donk"

Sometimes when the plane is taxiing (which means driving on the ground) you may hear an occasional "Donk" sound like we just ran over something.

The taxiways, which are the little roads we drive around on to get to the runway, have green lights in the middle. This is so we can find our way at night time.

These lights have a metal cover on them, to protect the light when we run over it... this is like a little "speed bump", and causes a "donk" sound when we hit one.

Have a look at the next page for a picture of this...
